WEBNov 16, 2015 · First off Rock Crusher and Rockchucker are two very different presses. Rock Crushers were big, and costly and very few were made. From 1967 till around 1980 the Rockchucker was painted a pale, pea green winkle finish. It will have RC on the side and a date of manufacture stamped near the die hole.

WEBFeb 1, 2016 · 6,711. The difference is the handle. JR2's had a tendency to break the handle at the thread shoulder. They have a 1/2 inch thread shank. That wa increased to 9/16 and the press renamed JR3. A good many broken JR2's were returned to RCBS for repair and all will have the 9/16 thread shank.

WEBNov 3, 2011 · You must be careful to not bump it too far. On the RCBS die, loosen the lock ring and adjust it down so that the die base does not quite touch the shell holder. Check the shoulder bump both before and after you do this. If your have not moved the shoulder, turn the die down about 1/8" at a time until you do.

WEBArizona. Feb 27, 2021. #13. I like Forster and RCBS. Forster for my primary hunting rifles and RCBS for everything else. Hate to be a dissenter, but I've not had good results with Hornady, especially the seating dies and I can buy Forster for just a bit more than Redding. The Redding body dies are the bomb.

I started using hornady a while back because the seating die is IMO the best you can get in that price range, however, I have combined sets for a few of my rifles and either gone back to an RCBS sizer, or a body die with a Lee Collet sizer. WEBJul 24, 2010 · The 2A dates to 1959-1961. Your early A2 dates 1961-1967. After 1967 there were several significant changes to the 2A. If you call RCBS they will tell you they are all A2's and they have no parts. The main changes to yours are the color (better looking), casting boss where the primer arm attaches and the assembly pins.

But within the last 5 years or so when new dies sets were needed went with the Redding deluxe die sets which are full length sizer, neck sizer and seater. And when I bought my Swiss K-31 Redding dies were recomended for the K-31.
