ORBY TV - DBSTalk Forum
Orby TV on Eutelsat 117 West A at 116.8°W - LyngSat The receivers are available at Best Buy - I assume they vetted the company before allowing them in their inventory.

Orby isn't in the position to subsidize installs. $250-$350 is a big commitment for a limited channel list. If they would sell a self install kit - receiver and DISH for $200 or less (they probably can't do less in a retail environment). That would help lower the cost of entry.

ORBY's dish uses the entire surface for one focal point, providing more signal to the LNB than smaller single orbital position dishes. The similar sized DISH and DIRECTV dishes are multi-orbital - building in a little extra gain since one cannot guarantee that every LNB eye on a DISH/DIRECTV dish is at the exact focal point for each satellite.

Charlie finally admits it’s game over for EchoStar and Dish
Charlie used to tout his superior DBS band with holdings and how it would end the war with Directv. Then look at voom which launched a DBS service with only 11 transponders at 61.5 and Orby who I believe only had 2 transponders. So all that bandwidth means nothing, but Directv will still control 3 transponders at 110 and 11 transponders at 119.

ATT price increase..... | DBSTalk Forum
Orby is probably priced appropriately already. It has lower prices because it doesn't have locals and sports channels, which are the most expensive channels.

4K Coming Soon to Stream | DBSTalk Forum
No breakups at all but I do have a pretty good wireless network 400/10 Comcast with Netgear Orby's. Not seeing the other channels 105/106 in the guide. I have the Choice package. It has not showed up on the Google TV App on the Sony or on my Hisense 4K TV. Also it has not showed up on my Roku Premiere or Apple TV 4K.

1995 DSS Infomercial | DBSTalk Forum
I'm guessing this has been posted on here before, but just in case I found this 1995 infomercial for Directv/USSB/RCA. I have had Directv since late 1994, or early 1995, this brings back some memories.

Does dish offer any DVRs besides hopper? | DBSTalk Forum
I went the the dish website and all I could find for customers was the hopper. Does dish still offer regular DVRs for its customers or do they have to get hopper now?

F2 TV (Free to view) now on Roku (off topic) | DBSTalk Forum
Orby raised suspicion for me but they managed to operate in partnership with established companies (Best Buy, etc) to distribute their receivers, they actually provided the service promised and the pricing was comparable to other MVPDs for the packages offered.

Why can't consumers get C-Band anymore? - DBSTalk Forum
Why are most channels blocked for consumers with C-Band dishes? Rainier satellite has a select few channels, but most of the popular channels are not available. It would be ideal to be able to receive the original feeds without re-compression, yet it's not available. What gives?
