Weeks after David Rose was killed while responding to a shooting this month at the CDC headquarters in Atlanta, officers are remembering the DeKalb County police officer as a courageous leader who prioritized family.

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A man was shot and killed in northwest Atlanta Saturday night, according to police. The shooting happened at 996 Westmoor Dr. NW in the Washington Park neighborhood around 11:24 p.m. When Zone 1 officers arrived at the scene, they found 27-year-old Marcus Banks III with a gunshot wound.

Police in Atlanta say the suspect is dead after a shooting near Emory University and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention headquarters.
