Over a month’s worth of rain, hurricane-force wind gusts and feet of mountain snow are coming to parts of the Pacific Northwest and Northern California.

A bomb cyclone and an atmospheric river will continue lashing the Pacific Northwest with severe weather conditions, the National Weather Service said.

A bomb cyclone slammed the Pacific Northwest and Canada's British Columbia on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, killing at least two people and knocking out power to more than half-a-million homes and businesses.

The northwestern U.S. avoided getting hit by a second "bomb cycle" on Thursday when the storm's fury came up short of forecasts, but an ongoing "atmospheric river" deluged northern California with wind and rain.
