A man was sentenced to life in prison Thursday for shooting and killing a man during an attempted robbery back in 2019.

A 19-year-old was arrested in connection to the drive-by shootings at a west Charlotte apartment complex that resulted in a two-year-old girl being shot in the neck.

According to ABC affiliate WSOC-TV, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to a deadly weapon call and discovered multiple apartments had been struck by gunfire. They found Leiloni Kinard suffering from a gunshot wound inside one of the apartments. She was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
