A study published yesterday in The Lancet Regional Health – Europe has linked eating ultra-processed foods to an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes, building on previous research2 that has drawn a connection between the metabolic disease and ready-to-eat foods like frozen meals, potato chips, and soda.

Studies have shown that eating ultra-processed foods is associated with a number of adverse health outcomes. Now, researchers have identified the four foods that are most likely to lead to type 2 diabetes.
