Michigan football has officially named true freshman Bryce Underwood as starting quarterback. He impressed coaches with his consistency and leadership during spring and fall camp. Underwood's first start will be against New Mexico at home, followed by a challenging road game at Oklahoma.

Bryce Underwood has been named the starting quarterback for No. 14 Michigan. Coach Sherrone Moore made the long-expected announcement on Monday at his weekly news conference. Underwood was the nation's top-ranked recruit last year and his father told The Wall Street Journal that the freshman is expected to make more than $15 million over the next three seasons.
