A Chicago area father and son are dead after being pulled from Lake Michigan Saturday afternoon in Porter County, Indiana, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources said.

A good Samaritan pulled David Meneou, 65, of Joliet, and his son, Jameson Meneou, 20, of Lockport, from the water before first responders arrived. The victims were then transported to a local hospital where they died.

A father and son from suburban Chicago who drowned in Lake Michigan near the Indiana Dunes National Park over the holiday weekend have been identified.
