A potent winter storm system brought rain, strong winds and even several inches of snow to parts of New York and New Jersey, but when will the wet weather end? Here's what you need to know.

In western New York, expect widespread rain, said Meteorologist Phillip Pandolfo of the National Weather Service in Buffalo. Some wet flakes could fly in the air, but any potentially measurable snow would be directly to higher terrain areas south of Rochester - including the Bristol Hills area and the Southern Tier.
