Forward Javonte Green is expected to join the Eastern Conference-leading Cleveland Cavaliers upon completing a buyout and clearing waivers from the New Orleans Pelicans, according to a report on Wednesday night.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are about to add more quality depth on the wing. Javonte Green is working on a buyout with the New Orleans Pelicans, and once he clears waivers and becomes a free agent, he is set to sign with the Cavaliers,

The Pelicans acquired a versatile player like Green right before the trade deadline when they received Bruce Brown as part of the Brandon Ingram deal. Brown will be able to fill Green’s role. Brandon Boston, who was on a 2-way contract with the Pels, also will get more minutes.
