The SEC race for the two teams in the conference title game is pretty simple now. Georgia has clinched one spot. The other will go to the winner of the No. 3 Texas at No. 15 Texas A&M game on Nov. 30 at Kyle Field.

Earlier in the day, Georgia wasn’t considering the SEC championship a strong possibility, much less clinching a spot before the night ended.

The Aggies and Longhorns are set to play for the first time in over a decade, with the winner set for a berth in the SEC conference championship game. Rece Davis, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, Kirk Herbstreit and Lee Corso will be on hand for it all.

The first game between Texas and Texas A&M in 13 years will include a visit from college football’s signature pregame show. ESPN announced Saturday night that “College GameDay” will broadcast live from Texas A&M next Saturday morning before the 6:30 p.

The network announced that it will be sending College Gameday to cover the revival of the Lone Star Showdown rivalry between the Longhorns and the Aggies.

And now for the fireworks portion of the show. Texas’ Quinn Ewers threw two touchdown passes to tight end Gunnar Helm in perhaps the final home game of his career, and the third-ranked Longhorns held on for a sloppy 31-14 win over Kentucky on a sun-splashed Saturday afternoon to set up next weekend’s high-stakes showdown with Texas A&M.

With one game left in the regular season, Texas (10-1, 6-1) remains atop the SEC standings and in control of its own fate.
