Various grocery stores will be open Thursday on both the Missouri and Kansas sides, including in Overland Park, Olathe, Independence, Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs and Lenexa.

KCTV5 took to the streets on Thanksgiving Day to ask the people of Kansas City what they’re most thankful for.

Light rain will linger across Kansas City on Wednesday before clearing out overnight. Expect cooler conditions to settle in for Thanksgiving, with highs in the upper 30s and mostly sunny skies.

We are only a few days away from Thanksgiving, which means many are doing some last-minute preparations to make sure the tables are decorated and the bellies are full this Thursday.

While some companies, like Walmart, Target and Publix, will be closed on Thanksgiving, others, such as Food Lion and Kroger, will be open under adjusted hours. Wholesalers like Costco and Sam's Club will also be closed on the holiday.
