JGR announces new crew chief for Ty Gibbs
Tyler Allen will move from the Xfinity Series to serve as Ty Gibbs’ crew chief in the Cup Series, Joe Gibbs Racing announced Monday. Allen was the crew chief for eight of the nine wins by JGR’s No. 20 Xfinity team this past season.

The staffing shuffle at Joe Gibbs Racing continues with the announcement of Tyler Allen taking over as crew chief for Ty Gibbs and the No. 54 team in the NASCAR Cup Series. Last week, Chris Gayle was named crew chief for Denny Hamlin's No. 11 team after stepping away from manning the helm for the No. 54 squad.

Tyler Allen has been added as Ty Gibbs’ crew chief in the NASCAR Cup Series for 2025, Joe Gibbs Racing announced Dec. 2. Allen replaces Chris Gayle, who was previously announced to be moving to Denny Hamlin’s JGR team. Allen was previously the crew chief for JGR’s No. 20 team in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
