The Michigan State Police Divers and Canine Unit pulled the woman’s body from the river around 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30, five days after she was seen entering the river and carried away by swift waters, according to a news release from the city of Grand Rapids. The woman has not yet been identified by authorities.

The body of a woman who fell into the Grand River has been recovered, according to Michigan State Police (MSP).

Crews are searching the Grand River in the area of Fulton Street Thursday afternoon, police confirmed to News 8. State police and firefighters are on scene. It has not yet been confirmed whether Thursday’s search is linked to the search and recovery effort in Grand Rapids over the weekend.
