Indexes rallied Thursday, with tech stocks leading the Nasdaq to rise 2.5% as investors continued to digest Wednesday's jumbo rate cut from the Fed.

Stocks were choppy in the lead-up to today's Federal Reserve policy announcement. While the main indexes made a confident move higher after the central bank cut rates by a half-percentage point, a late-day burst of selling pressure sent them into the red at the close.

Indian equity benchmark indices, BSE Sensex and Nifty50, surged in trade on Friday. While BSE Sensex was above 83,400, Nifty50 was trading over 25,500.
