The Libyan army chief has been killed in an air crash in Turkey, Libya's prime minister has said.

Libya’s army chief of staff, Mohammed Ali Ahmed al-Haddad, and four other people were on-board the Falcon 50 business jet that crashed on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister said in a statement on Facebook that the “tragic accident" took place as the Libyan delegation was “returning from an official trip to Ankara.”
