The Hurricanes fell behind in the second period, but timely saves from unlikely No. 1 goalie Spencer Martin and rookie Jackson Blake’s seventh goal of the season lifted Carolina past the Rangers.

Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Jackson Blake scored 2:07 apart midway through the third period, and the Carolina Hurricanes rallied to beat the New York Rangers 4-3 on Wednesday night. Jack Drury and Seth Jarvis also scored as the Hurricanes won their ninth straight at home.

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Jackson Blake scored the go-ahead goal in the third period, and the Carolina Hurricanes rallied for a 4-3 win against the New York Rangers at Lenovo Center on Wednesday. Blake took a pass from Jack Drury between the circles and beat Igor Shesterkin on a wrist shot past the blocker for a 4-3 lead at 12:01.

The New York Rangers had the game in their hands until they didn’t as they blew a third period lead to the Carolina Hurricanes en route to a 4-3 loss. Going into this matchup the Rangers had lost three consecutive games and have really been struggling to find their identity.
