On the French island of Mayotte, a curfew has been put in place as the cleanup continues.At least 34 people have been killed in Mozambique by Cyclone Chido, authorities said on Tuesday, after the storm tore through the French island of Mayotte days earlier.

The Indian Ocean archipelago of Mayotte is reeling from Cyclone Chido, the most intense storm to hit the French territory in 90 years, according to officials.

Just last year, Mozambique was left reeling from Cyclone Freddy, one of the longest-lived storms ever recorded in the Southern Hemisphere, if not the whole world. More than 180 in the country were killed, the World Meteorological Organization said.
