The Eknath Shinde-led faction of the Shiv Sena absolutely vanquished the Shiv Sena (UBT) not only in terms of the number of seats won but also the strike rate.

The Maharashtra assembly elections 2024 marked the first state polls since the Shiv Sena split in 2022. While the Shiv Sena faction led by Eknath Shinde looks set to win 57 of the 81 seats (strike rate of 70%) it contested,

The Maharashtra election results are out and it’s a thumping victory for the Mahayuti alliance of the BJP, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP. The win further cements Eknath Shinde’s place in Maharashtra politics.

Kalidas Kolambkar of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured the Wadala assembly seat in a first win for the party.

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) leader Aaditya Thackeray is currently leading by 4,662 votes from the Worli seat in the Assembly elections in Maharashtra, data from the Election Commission showed on Saturday.
