Despite the recent snow storm, signs of spring are making their way to Colorado this weekend, bringing warmer temperatures and a break from the wintry weather.

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) said the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 were closed between Silverthorne and the Eisenhower Tunnel Thursday night due to adverse conditions with multiple crashes and slide-offs. The highway has since reopened.

Snow can disrupt travel and create dangerous driving conditions, while winter storms may also cause power outages.

Severe storms also swept through parts of Florida and Georgia, where tornado watches were in effect early Sunday, the National Weather Service said.
