Michigan State women's basketball took home the Acrisure Classic on Wednesday, defeating Vanderbilt 78-70 to take home the trophy. After beating California, 78-72, to make the final, the Spartans took care of their business to bring home a trophy to East Lansing.

Grace VanSlooten also had a double-double and surpassed 1,000 career points in the process. She had a season-high 25 points on 11-of-19 shooting and had 10 rebounds for the Sparta

MSU trailed 49-45 entering the fourth quarter but started with an 11-2 blitz to open a 56-51 lead. The surge included three lay-ups by junior Grace VanSlooten, including a coast-to-coast trip after a defensive rebound. VanSlooten, who scored her 1,000th career point Wednesday, finished with a game-high 25 against Vanderbilt.

PALM SPRINGS, California (WILX) - Michigan State women’s basketball won a tight battle over Vanderbilt in the Acrisure Classic championship game, 78-70, led by big performances from Julia Ayrault and Grace VanSlooten. For the second game in a row, MSU trailed entering the fourth quarter but found a way to win at the end.

The University of Arizona women’s basketball team took on Vanderbilt University and the University of California, Berkeley in Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs, California where the Wildcats faced losses to both programs.
