The Miami Dolphins’ 23-15 win over the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football could have gone so much worse for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

When Los Angeles Rams linebacker Christian Rozeboom intercepted a Tua Tagovailoa pass on Monday night, the Miami Dolphins quarterback made the tackle to end the return. After the game, Tagovailoa said: “I wasn’t planning on using my head to go hit him.”

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa said that he does not regret his tackle attempt in his team’s 23-15 victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Monday, despite his history of head injuries.

Tagovailoa had just thrown an interception to linebacker Christian Rozeboom, who was returning the ball up the sideline. Tagovailoa got in front of Rozeboom, lowered his shoulder to try and make a tackle, and Rozeboom’s leg ended up hitting Tagovailoa in the helmet.

Tagovailoa got hurt when he collided with Buffalo Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin on Sept. 12. He ran for a first down and initiated contact by lowering his shoulder into Hamlin instead of sliding, which prompted his teammates to have talks with him about protecting himself moving forward.

Tua Tagovailoa gave the Miami Dolphins a scare Monday night when his tackle of a Los Angeles Rams linebacker resulted in him taking a knee to the head. The quarterback doesn't regret the decision, though.

Believe that was Tua hitting Odell Beckham Jr. for 11 yards (to move the chains) and Malik Washington for 17 as the Dolphins were successfully working on the clock with about five minutes left. That’s winning football.
