Parts of Lafayette are under a flash flood warning this morning due to heavy rain. Some parts of the city are impassable.

"The heavy rain has ended. Flooding of low-lying and/or poor drainage areas may continue for a few hours until the water has had a chance to recede. Please continue to heed remaining road closures," says the NWS Fort Worth TX. The warning is in effect until 8 p.m.

A Flood Warning has been issued for Lafayette by the National Hurricane Center as a storm produced heavy rain early Wednesday

Lafayette firefighters rescued several people who were trapped in their homes and vehicles because of flash floods Wednesday morning.
