The Jennings Creek Wildfire, which burned over 5,000 acres of forest in Orange County and New Jersey, is now fully contained, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced.

The massive Jennings Creek wildfire is now 100% contained after more than a week of fierce firefighting. The fire started earlier this month in Passaic County, New Jersey before jumping across the border into New York. It forced people to leave their homes voluntarily and burned thousands of acres of land.
