When, in her resignation letter, Freeland urged you to work “in good faith and humility” with the 10 premiers, her implication was clear: So far you’ve been an arrogant, domineering jerk. Stop it. Stop putting your selfish ends before the kind of unified leadership Canada needs right now.

Another blow for Justin Trudeau
On December 16th this fate befell Justin Trudeau, Canada’s prime minister, when Chrystia Freeland left his cabinet. She marked her exit by publishing a scorn-fuelled note accusing Mr Trudeau of resorting to “costly political gimmicks” in his efforts to shore up his popularity with Canadians through tax breaks and handouts.
