Philadelphia 76ers forward Paul George has a bone bruise on his left knee and will miss two games, the team said Thursday.

Tyrese Maxey returned from a hamstring injury to join Joel Embiid, who has played in only four games, and Paul George, who has appeared in eight. All three took their place in Philadelphia's starting lineup for the first time this season against the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Sixers, who are off to a nightmarish 2-12 start this year, are teetering on the verge of a lost season in the wake of Paul George's latest knee injury.
