EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Jacoby Brissett was on the bench late in the fourth quarter Thursday night, and Drake Maye was on the field. Brissett was over on the sideline, white towel draped over his head, while Maye was calling signals in the huddle, getting his first NFL experience.

With the New England Patriots trailing badly against the New York Jets, Maye entered the game in relief of a battered Jacoby Brissett. Brissett had a rough night at the helm of the Patriots offense, getting sacked five times and hit 10 times. The Patriots trailed 24-3 with 4:24 remaining when Maye entered the game.

Drake Maye took over at quarterback for the New England Patriots late in the second half against the New York Jets on Thursday night.
