Amsterdam police were bracing for yet another night of unrest on Tuesday as the Dutch capital grapples with antisemitic violence that started with attacks against visiting Israeli football fans last week.

The warning comes after the city extended a ban on protests through Thursday. Additional protests occurred Monday anyways, when dozens of people armed with sticks and firecrackers set a tram on fire.

The violent assaults have set off a charged debate over antisemitism in the Netherlands and the country’s success in integrating immigrants.

A total of eight people were being held in connection with last week’s violence, and unrest in the largest city in the Netherlands continued on Monday night.

Dutch police arrested three people suspected of causing unrest in Amsterdam following last week’s clashes between Israeli fans and pro-Palestinian demonstrators ahead of a soccer match. Police officers pursued groups of people who lobbed stones at them, the daily Het Parool reported late on Monday.

Amsterdam authorities are preparing for another night of protests just one day after three people were arrested for smashing a window of a tram. This comes days after an attack on Israeli soccer fans.

Violence once again broke out on the streets of Amsterdam on Monday night as a large group of people caused unrest, leading to three arrests, according to Dutch police.

Dutch police have made five more arrests over the violence which followed a match involving an Israeli football team in Amsterdam on Thursday night. The five men, all from the Netherlands and aged between 18 and 37,
