Nine people have been detained after unrest that erupted during a protest over last week’s deadly roof collapse in a northern Serbian city that killed 14 people and injured three.

Several thousand took to the streets in Belgrade, demanding resignations and arrests of top officials over the deaths of 14 at a railway station.

Protesters have thrown flares and red paint at the City Hall building in the Serbian city of Novi Sad in rage over last week’s collapse of a concrete canopy at the railway station that killed 14 people.
