Star Trek is set to debut a new show in either late 2025 or early 2026. The show is called Star Trek: Starfleet Academy and will not only feature a young cast of newcomers, but will be tentpoled around series lead Holly Hunter and main villain Paul Giamatti.

Starfleet Academy has been renewed for Season 2 at Paramount+ while Season 1 is still in production. The early renewal was announced by executive producer, co-showrunner, director and franchise boss Alex Kurtzman on a livestream from the show’s Toronto set during the Star Trek universe panel at New York Comic-Con on Saturday.
