It's a new era for college football. This season has brought plenty of change already as teams adjust to new conference alignments. The next big change coming into view is the College Football Playoff format which will grow from four teams to 12 teams.

Oregon, Georgia, Miami and BYU lead the way in the first projected College Football Playoff bracket of the 2024 season. The first round of CFP Rankings were released on Tuesday, giving the nation its first look at how the College Football Playoff Selection Committee evaluates the field under the new 12-team format.

The first ranking from the College Football Playoff committee were released on Tuesday night. Oregon took the top spot, followed by Ohio State at No. 2, then Georgia, Miami, and Texas to round out the top five. Georgia is the highest one-loss team at No. 3, and Boise State is the top-ranked squad (No. 12) from the Group of 5 conferences.
