Portions of Ohio has inched closer to becoming a desert this week as the ongoing drought worsened and expanded, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. CLEVELAND, Ohio - The historic drought in Ohio continues to worsen, with moderate drought touching Portage County, closing back in on Northeast Ohio, while extreme levels of drought continue to spread westward.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources is urging the public to use water resources wisely as dry conditions continue across the state. The Division of Water Resources is urging Ohioans to minimize and reduce their water use as drought persists throughout the region.
