Advocate Health Care plans to spend $1 billion overhauling how it provides health care on the South Side of Chicago — replacing Advocate Trinity Hospital with a smaller facility with far fewer beds, while expanding access to primary and specialty care.

Advocate Health Care unveiled plans this week to spend $1 billion to improve healthcare services on Chicago's South Side, including building a brand new hospital, 10 neighborhood care locations, expanded outpatient programs and services and workforce development initiatives.

Advocate announced its $1 billion investment Tuesday. As Political Reporter Chris Tye reports, the plan involves a new lakefront hospital and 10 care locations.
