The IPL 2025 mega auction kicked off with fireworks, delivering enthralling moments and jaw-dropping deals on Day 1. Franchises splurged massive sums on marquee players, while some big names went for surprisingly low prices.

Three-time IPL finalists, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), entered the auction with a purse of INR 89 crores. Retaining only three players – Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal, the franchise had the challenging task of rebuilding the whole squad for the upcoming season.

The 10 franchises will have a total auction purse of Rs 641.5 crore after spending over Rs 550 crore in retaining players ahead of the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.
