“There will be no more compromise on the quality of the laddus and the quality of ghee used (to make it),” TTD Executive Officer J Syamala Rao said. However, the TTD announced on Saturday that it will temporarily suspend the use of cow ghee and milk-based products in the preparation of other offerings, or “prasadams,” for the deity.

Amid growing concerns from devotees regarding the quality of ghee used in the world famous Tirupati ‘laddu prasadam’, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has reassured that the sanctity of the sacred offering has been restored.

In a statement, Amul addressed social media rumours that claimed the company had been providing ghee to the temple. “We wish to clarify that Amul has never supplied ghee to TTD,” the company said, further stating that their ghee is produced from high-quality milk in ISO-certified facilities.
