Two runways were closed at Paris Charles-de-Gaulle airport Tuesday as officials tried to capture a dog named Amalka a week after it escaped from an aircraft.

The dog, Amalka, vanished during a layover in Paris while traveling with her owner, Croatian tourist Misa. They had flown in from Vienna and were en route to Dallas. Amalka managed to slip out of her crate after the flight landed, possibly due to a faulty latch that loosened during mid-flight turbulence, according to Air France.
