The Country Music Association owes Shaboozey an apology after the 2024 CMA Awards featured multiple microaggressions aimed at the two-time nominee.

Additionally, Shaboozey was just nominated for six Grammys including song of the year. And it initially appeared that the country music crowd had embraced him as well after he received CMA Awards nominations for new artist and song of the year.

Shortly after the 2024 CMA Awards ended, Shaboozey, whose real name is Collins Obinna Chibueze, appeared to respond to the joke. He shared a photo of himself sitting in a sprinter van wearing an all-black outfit with rings on his hands and a chain around his neck.

Shaboozey performed his hit song "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" during the 2024 Country Music Association Awards. The song became a juggernaut since it dropped in April and earned him two CMA Awards nominations.
