We decided to invest in the fourth axis and now we are in need of a CAM software that can handle the fourth axis. right now we have been using Bobcad. CloudNC claims the difference between the two is CloudNC recognizes Geometry, and CAMWorks recognizes Features (few other CAM software has feature recognition as well).

Seeing that Siemens is the inventor of the parasolid kernal that solidworks and other CAD systems use it makes sense that they are the most robust. NX CAM is, hands down, the most powerful CAM system I have ever laid my grubby little hands on.

Time spent editing and going back and forth between multiple cam systems, not to mention possible a cad system as well, are like making payments on a better cam system that you don't have. If all of your parts are currently on CAD software and are drawn to scale in the middle of the tolerance band, you can import them into most CAM packages as an IGES file. If not, you will have to draw the parts within the CAM software. Look at some demos. Most will have a CD with a trial copy.
