It involves drilling 4 holes, inserting metal dowels or router bits into the holes (the dowels or bits should be the same size as the holes), measureing the diagonals, and adjusting the gantry.

New DYI Fixed Gantry Router Build - CNCzone
Oct 25, 2010 · Don, I am running the a HobbyCNC Pro board with 200 oz-in steppers, they are pushing around a modified JGRO (mdf=heavy) machine with a Sears Craftsman 2.5hp router. Works pretty darn good, could be just a little faster though as I am running single start 5/8" 11tpi all-thread on all of my axis.

Dec 20, 2006 · Long signs could be done on a router that is say 4' by 4'. Granted with a moving table, the foot print for a machine this size would still be 4' by 8' at least, but the table and material would be the only weight the motors would have.
