Endoscopic Ultrasound is a procedure where the tip of the endoscope will have an ultrasound probe that is passed through the food pipe, stomach, and intestine. This is used to access the internal organs and is a better option than C T or MRI scanning. Usually, this procedure is used when there is a suspicion of bile duct stone, or a tumor in the bile duct, gall bladder line, or lymph nodes.
