When taking x-rays of an animal getting at least TWO views is very important and typically we're referring to a ventral/dorsal view (aka bottom to top or top to bottom) and a lateral view (side to side) and 2 views 90 degrees from each other are called "orthogonal" views. And the image x-rays produce is actually called a "radiograph" not an x-ray. However, obtaining orthogonal views can be challenging for some patients based on their anatomy...I promise I don't tape animals to boxes for fun, hah
