Super Strong Machine (Junji Hirata) turns 69 today! Hirata was a cornerstone of New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s scene in the 1980s. He captured multiple tag titles in NJPW and later competed in All Japan and WAR. In 1986 the WWF introduced a stable of wrestlers called The Machines (The Giant Machine, Big Machine, & Super Machine) based on Hirata's popular Machine gimmick.
